Hello reader, I'm so glad you're here! My name is Kierstyn and I am the creator of Bright & Cheerful Motherhood.

This post is going to be a fun and quick (and quirky) way to get to know me a little better. If you'd like to learn a little more about this blog, you should check out my About page, or even hop over to my very first blog post.

Let's start with the game "Three Truths + One Lie"

  1. At one point in my life, my family owned over 15 pets.

  2. My first time on an airplane was when I was 23 years old.

  3. My husband and I met in grade school.

  4. I go through about one Burt's Bees lip balm every 3 weeks.

Do you think you know which one is the lie?

I'll give you a second...

"My husband and I met in grade school." We actually met on the first day of class our sophomore year of college. If you're a romantic, you can read our love story here...

That was fun! But now I'd like to challenge myself by telling my whole life story in 5 sentences or less. Are you ready for this? Let's go!

In August of 1992, my mom and dad eagerly awaited the birth of their first born child, me, a squirrelly, stubborn, little girl, whom they named "Kierstyn" on the spot in the hospital because everyone told them they were going to have a boy, and they definitely weren't prepared with girl names (hence the unique spelling and the decades of mispronunciations to follow).

I was born and raised in way-to-sunny Southern California with year-round trips to the beach, Disneyland annual passes, and a backyard big enough to fuel my imagination and house well over a dozen pets in over two decades.

I met my childhood best friend on the school playground when I was only eight years old, and she stood by my side 15 years later as I married my lifetime best friend (my oh-so-handsome husband); and I stood by her side two months later as she married her high school sweetheart.

Although I got my degree in elementary education, I took the path my heart originally fell for in my younger years and pursued a career in graphics and digital marketing before settling into my most beloved career yet: a stay-at-home mom to my one-week-early, emergency c-section, best birthday present ever, fellow Disney-obsessed, little boy.

A month before my 28th birthday, I realized a long-desired dream of mine to create a blog that would provide resources and products for other women and to build a community to celebrate the joy of motherhood together; and what a beautiful, fun, and exciting thing it has turned into, too!

Whew! Now you know a pretty concise summary of my life. Comment below if we have anything in common!
