I loved my wedding dress! It was exactly what I hoped for and more. But I think what I love most about my dress are the stories behind it.
It's been almost six years since I found my wedding dress, and I still can't believe it happened an hour before I was even engaged!
Flash back to February 28th, 2015... My childhood best friend, Katie, and I were having a much-needed girls weekend. In reality, it was all part of an elaborate plan leading up to my husband's grand marriage proposal. And even though I had my suspicions that the proposal was near, Katie whipped up a side plan to distract me and throw me off the scent.
Katie was already engaged to her high school sweetheart, and so she wanted to try on some dresses while we were out.
When we got there, Katie insisted on me trying on dresses, too, and handed me a fake engagement ring she brought along for the trip. Ironically, this led me to find, and try on, what would be my future wedding dress just hours before getting engaged!
It was a little strange not actually being engaged at that moment, but every time I looked down at the fake ring sitting on my finger, I could only imagine the beautiful real ring Nathan and I had looked at a month before.
After trying on six dresses that evening, I found myself going back to this one dress in particular. It was a ball gown style dress with a strapless sweetheart neckline and beautiful beading over the bodice.

As I stood there in awe of this gorgeous dress, I just knew it had to be the one. We left the store and continued to head down the coast to Moss Cove where Nathan was secretly waiting for me. Read the full engagement story here.
Fast forward a month to March 2015...
Katie and I made our way back to David's Bridal, this time with a real engagement ring on my finger. Katie and I had narrowed our choices down to two dresses. After about an hour of trying on different veils and accessories with each dress, we both knew which ones we wanted.
At David's Bridal, they give you a bell to ring once you've decided on your dream dress. Katie and I had the privilege to stand up on the dressing stage and ring that bell together!
